Ready to Get Started? Follow These Simple Steps to Buy a Gun Online:
Step 1: Find Your FFL Partner
First things first—you’ll need a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder to handle the transfer of your new firearm. Use our handy FFL Finder to locate one nearby, or just search “FFLs near me” online. Before you commit, make sure the FFL you choose is currently accepting transfers and that their transfer fee works for your budget.
Step 2: Set Up the Firearm Transfer
Give your chosen FFL a heads-up that you’re purchasing a firearm online and will need them to handle the transfer to you. They might ask for your legal name and contact details to notify you when your firearm arrives. If needed, your FFL will send us a copy of their license to keep on file for the transfer.
Step 3: Make Your Purchase Online
Ready to buy? Add your chosen firearm to your cart and head to checkout. Make sure you use the FFL’s current address for the shipping address and list the FFL’s business name in the company name field. Remember, unless you’re an FFL yourself, your firearm cannot be shipped directly to you—it must go to your FFL.
Step 4: Complete the Transfer at Your FFL
Once your FFL receives your firearm, they’ll contact you to complete the transfer. Be sure to bring a valid, government-issued ID with your photo, legal name, residential address, and date of birth—no exceptions, as required by the BATFE. You’ll also need to fill out an ATF Firearm Transaction Record Form (Form 4473) to ensure you’re eligible to receive a firearm. A background check may also be required. Before completing Transfer at your FFL, it’s IMPERATIVE that you check the firearm closely for any issues. Once the transfer completes there are no returns and no refunds.
Step 5: Take Home Your New Firearm!
After completing the Form 4473 and, if necessary, passing the background check, your FFL will finalize the transfer. Congratulations—you’re now the proud owner of a new firearm! Time to head home and enjoy your new purchase.
Here’s a little more information around rules and policies…
Some of our firearms are listed in partnership with distributor or buying group warehouses. In these cases, product photo and the item specification details on the listing page may not accurately represent the complete detail of the item being purchased. Please verify the product based on the manufacturer model # or UPC # with manufacturer provided specifications before ordering.
When you buy a firearm online from Adventure Gear South, you can trust that we’re following all the right rules and regulations. By law, we can only ship firearms to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. So, you’ll need to pick up your purchase at our store or from an FFL dealer near you. During checkout, you’ll select your preferred FFL, and we’ll handle the rest, including contacting them to confirm everything’s good to go. It’s a smart move to touch base with your chosen FFL before completing your purchase.

General Firearm Sales
We take pride in operating legally and with integrity at Adventure Gear South. Every firearm, magazine, receiver, and law enforcement item we sell and ship is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. It’s up to you to know your local regulations before ordering, as some items might be restricted or prohibited in your area.
Every new firearm you purchase will arrive in the original manufacturer’s box, complete with magazines, accessories, and a warranty where applicable. If you ever need warranty work, send the firearm back to the factory within a year for repairs. Just a heads up—accessories and special orders that aren’t typically stocked by us aren’t covered by our warranty unless we put it in writing. For warranty info on these items, check directly with the manufacturer.
Secure Transmission
Your security is our priority. All the information you provide during checkout is protected by industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS), creating a secure, encrypted connection between our website and your browser. This ensures that your personal data stays private and safe.
Order Fulfillment
We work hard to get your orders out the door quickly. Most items ship from our distributor warehouse or in-store inventory within 7-10 business days via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Once your order is on its way, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can keep an eye on its journey.
Online Price & Description Errors
Our inventory is always on the move, and while we strive for accuracy, sometimes mistakes happen. If an item shows up on our site by mistake or there’s an error in its description or price, we reserve the right to cancel your order. If that happens, we won’t charge your card, or we’ll promptly refund your payment.
Ammunition Purchases
When it comes to buying ammo, age matters. You must be 18 or older to purchase rifle or shotgun ammunition and 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition. All ammunition is shipped via ground with an adult signature required upon delivery. And remember, always use the correct ammunition for your specific firearm and double-check your local laws for any other regulations.
